Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery - Houston, Texas

Dr. Ahuero is a specialist in Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery.  He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. 

A native Texan, Dr. Ahuero grew up in Corpus Christi.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Rice University in Houston where he was a member of the Men’s Varsity Swimming Team.  He went to Baylor College of Medicine for Medical School.  He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  He obtained advanced fellowship training in Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham.  Dr. Ahuero previously spent several years in a busy private practice before joining the Baylor faculty.

He is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.  He is licensed to practice medicine in Texas.

His particular areas of expertise include congenital, traumatic, and degenerative disorders of the ankle and foot.

Dr. Ahuero enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and extended Houston-based family.  He is an active outdoorsman.  He believes in a patient-centered approach to caring for those he has the privilege of treating.
